The highlight of the week was to catch a 39lb 1oz mirror twice which i called Birthmark. I first caught her on the sunday night from the far margins on a double 18m bait and feed company boilie tipped with plastic corn. The second time was the friday afternoon this time from a different part of the lake again on the bait feed boilies, both times she managed to snag me up in the reeds in my margin but once out she gave a heavy solid fight to the net. The fish a mirror with some unusual markings she had a red birthmark on one side of her head and a white shoulder on one side plus a bit missing from her tail. This is now my French Pb beating my uk pb by 7 lb.year!

Here are my pics of my 38.5 lb PB, a virgin leather carp, from the original stocking 20 years ago, caught before
first light on Sunday. Look at the rudder on the fish, to say it
went wild would be an understatement. I managed to gain line on it whilst it was kiting from the far bank reeds
and prevented it firstly from entering the lilies, then from getting behind the snags to my right. I soon ended up
with a very fresh fish right in front of me, it took out my LHS line and I therefore had to hold it hard on a short line.
Luckily I was using my 13ft 3lb Torrix rods, which have 8 rings for “playability”, they were bent well beyond a “U”,
my heart was pounding but all held and I netted it at the first attempt. When I rolled the net down and tried to lift it
I knew I had a PB.
Trois Fontaine is a beautiful tranquil water, you could almost not be in the 21st century, it will undoubtedly become a famous venue.
I’ll be back next year.!

The Wife (who has never night fished and never seen a fish over 8lbs) and I fished the small lake from 4pm Friday to 2pm Monday. I've fished in France a few times but I'm no expert. Had the first fish at 2.30am 18lb Mirror. Saturday was really hot (30) and still with no wind. Even though you couldn't wish for worse fishing conditions we landed 2 fish, 25lb common, 28lb mirror. The night was warm and still but landed another one 21lb common....... So, 1 x double, 6 x 20s and 2 x 30 in 3 nights. Not bad for a complete novice and a fat bloke with no baitboat!

The first carp [which is a mirror] was 32lb and was caught down the margin to the over hanging tree. The big common was 35lb and was caught from the far margin the night before we left. The last fish of mine was again 35lb and was caught from the far margin on the morning we was leaving.
Martins fish was a 35lber as well caught from the snag by the drain We really had a good time the fish are of a very good quality and Martin ended up having 17 carp, me I had just 7 but a very good break Thank you very much for allowing us to fish you complex and we hope to return.

Just returned from your lake and just wanted to drop you a line to thank you for a superb week on the lake, the place is simply stunning and if you can keep its unspoilt rural beauty this will be a brilliant fishery for many years to come.
Jon was a brilliant host who couldn't do enough to help, so please pass on our gratitude in helping make it a truly wonderful and peaceful weeks fishing.
Many thanks again and we will certainly be back in the future.
